Nos propomos analisar como a cultura organizacional se têm conceitualizado desde um ponto de vista teórico, em que medida se tem relacionado com outras variáveis organizacionais relevantes e que problemas e dilemas podemos encontrar a nível metodológico nas diferentes publicações ao respeito. Através da revisão de manuais
de referência e das publicações mais recentes sobre este conceito refletimos sobre alguns dos elementos mais importantes considerados na definição do mesmo, e descrevemos sua importância em base à sua relação com outros elementos organizacionais. Temos detectado múltiplas pesquisas que relacionam a cultura de uma organização com o clima laboral, a satisfação e o rendimento dos empregados, seus desejos de ir embora e inclusive seu impacto na conta de resultados da empresa. Também refletimos sobre as vantagens e inconvenientes das duas principais aproximações metodológicas e nos debates mais importantes atualmente abertos sobre a pesquisa destes temas. Ainda que se requeira muita mais pesquisa e acordo em torno a este conceito, apresentam-se resultados que consideramos qualquer pesquisador interessado nesta temática devera conhecer e considerar antes de começar a pesquisar a cultura de uma organização.

Samuel Arias Sánchez es Doctor en Psicología, Máster en Psicología del Trabajo y de las Organizaciones, y Máster en Cerebro y Conducta por la Universidad de Sevilla, España.
