Introdução: A violência não é um subproduto inerente às relações humanas, mas os conflitos sim. Os fatores e circunstâncias que levam a tensões e conflitos entre os que procuram saúde e os estabelecimentos médicos nepaleses e os funcionários que trabalham lá são examinados neste artigo. Desenvolvimento: Integrada com revisão de literatura relevante, por meio da análise de informações qualitativas, esta parte do artigo é desenvolvida em quatro seções diferentes. A primeira parte trata do contexto das consultas médicas que resultam no desenvolvimento de uma relação problemática. Isso é seguido pelo exame de diferentes tipos de violência, confrontos e protestos que emergem de tais relações. As implicações do aumento das promessas médicas e consequente aumento das expectativas são analisadas na terceira parte, enquanto a quarta parte destaca como as práticas médicas típicas que existem nos próprios hospitais nepaleses estão aumentando a possibilidade de confrontos e violência. Conclusaõ: A ocorrência frequente de brigas e violência médica em hospitais públicos e privados no Nepal nos sugere que elas podem acontecer em qualquer hospital, independentemente da propriedade. Há sempre uma lacuna de comunicação entre os prestadores de serviços e o paciente devido à natureza esotérica da medicina. Conflitos e violência contra provedores de serviços também podem prosperar no contexto de um modelo explicativo diferencial dos dois lados. A crescente animosidade também sinaliza um declínio na confiança entre os provedores de cuidados de saúde e os requerentes no Nepal.
