A pesquisa apresenta uma descrição do tempo de uso e as motivações que os jovens espanhóis expressam para passar grande parte de seu tempo diário conectado às redes sociais. O estudo é baseado em uma pesquisa com 572 pessoas entre 15 e 26 anos na Espanha e mostra que os jovens gastam em média 5,5 horas por dia navegando nas redes sociais. No que diz respeito às motivações mais expressas pelos inquiridos, destacam-se as de compartilhar fotos ou vídeos e ver o que os seus contatos fazem no dia a dia. Apesar de muitos usuários descreverem seu uso como viciante, eles mostram pouca vontade de mudar seus hábitos. Além disso, os resultados do artigo também mostram que a atenção dos jovens está concentrada em poucas plataformas, em sua maioria pertencentes ao Meta, o que favorece uma posição dominante de poucas grandes empresas de tecnologia no controle do mercado da atenção.
