O presente estudo teve como objetivo examinar as propriedades psicométricas do Vividness of Visual Imagery Questionnaire (VVIQ) em uma amostra de 614 universitários espanhóis entre 21 e 39 anos. O análise fatorial exploratório (AFE) deu um modelo do VVIQ composto por 12 itens estruturados em 4 fatores (Imagens Espaciais em Movimento [IEM]; Imagens Familiares [IIFF]; Lembrança de Objetos Detalhados [ROD]; Capacidade Criativa de Imagens [CCI]), que explicaram respectivamente o 12.99, 13.53, 12.97 e 12.70% do total da variância. Este modelo foi corroborado através de uma análise fatorial confirmatória (AFC), obtendo adequados índices de ajuste dos dados. Obtiveram-se índices de fiabilidade aceitáveis para o total da escala (α = .82) e os quatro fatores (α = .72-.82). A escala mostrou correlações positivas e significativas entre as Preocupações Perfeccionistas e os Fatores IEM e ROD. Aporta-se uma escala de medida atualizada para medir a vivacidade de imagens mentais, assim como um novo conhecimento científico em relação com o perfeccionismo.
