This study is a systematic review of the literature on facilitating interventions of the parent infant bond held with parents and premature babies hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, published in the last 10 years. Search terms included “intervention and premature babies and intensive care unit” and their translations into English, including empirical articles, available in full and published in English, Portuguese or Spanish, arising from medicine, psychology, nursing, psychiatry or multidisciplinary. We analyzed the results through 10 categories: types of publication; year of publication; continent and country of origin of the article; academic researchers; predominant language in publications; the study objectives; design; participants; used tools and interventions; and results. 11 articles mainly published in medical journals were found, composed of multidisciplinary authors, quantitative design, and the mother- -infant dyad as a participants. There were no articles authored by psychologists alone, who composed two multidisciplinary studies, showing the need for understanding of this phenomenon, as the repercussions of the first links in the global development of individuals are deeply covered in psychology.
