O objetivo principal desta pesquisa foi determinar o nível de maturidade tecnológica de alunos de graduação em instituições de ensino superior. Para isso, analisou-se a correlação entre familiaridade com a transformação digital, confiança na transformação digital, experiência de uso de ferramentas digitais, atitude em relação às ferramentas digitais e expectativas de uso futuro de ferramentas digitais. O estudo foi quantitativo, com um desenho não experimental. Elaborou-se um questionário como instrumento de coleta de dados, o qual foi distribuído via internet a 481 estudantes, pertencentes a diferentes unidades acadêmicas: Faculdade de Administração, Faculdade de Medicina e Ciências da Saúde e Faculdade de Jurisprudência de diferentes semestres letivos. A coleta de dados foi realizada na cidade de Bogotá. Entre os principais achados se destacam a relação positiva entre confiança na transformação digital, experiência de uso e expectativas de uso futuro das ferramentas digitais; a correlação negativa entre a confiança na transformação digital e a atitude em relação às ferramentas digitais, esta última mostra uma correlação negativa com as expectativas de uso futuro, da mesma forma, a pesquisa mostrou a diferença existente no nível de maturidade tecnológica dos estudantes de acordo com a área de conhecimento e o semestre cursado.
