Se estudiaron las competencias para administrar un negocio del emprendedor de pequeñas empresas, sus habilidades de negociación y su competencia intercultural en relación a los resultados del negocio. El estudio fue realizado en el área del bajío mexicano con una muestra de 140 pequeños empresarios. Se realizó un modelo a través de ecuaciones estructurales utilizando el programa AMOS. Los resultados muestran índices de un modelo aceptable tomando de acuerdo a Rigdon (1996). Se muestra una correlación positiva entre las variables estudiadas con lo cual se demuestra que sí existe una relación entre las competencias del administrador de pequeñas empresas y sus resultados

Dra. María Teresa de la Garza Carranza. Doctor en Ciencias Administrativas por el Instituto Politécnico Nacional de México. Ha publicado diversos artículos de investigación en prestigiadas revistas así como libros y capítulos de libro. Sus áreas  de interés son: el comportamiento organizacional, la gestión educativa, las pequeñas empresas y la responsabilidad social corporativa. Actualmente es profesora e investigadora del Instituto Tecnológico de Celaya, además colabora activamente en la Universidad de la Salle Bajío. Dra. María Alicia Zavala Berbena. Es licenciada en Psicología y Maestra en Investigación Educativa por la Universidad de Guanajuato; obtuvo el grado de Doctora en Educación por la Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes y realizó un posdoctorado en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Ha sido profesora visitante en la Universidad de Castilla La Mancha y la Universidad de Murcia España.  Su campo de interés profesional incluye la educación de alumnos con altas capacidades intelectuales y el estudio de la inteligencia emocional.  Radica en México y es Directora de Investigación de la Universidad De La Salle Bajío. Dr. Jorge Armando López-Lemus, ha obtenido el grado de Doctor en Administración y Estudios Organizacionales por la Universidad de La Salle Bajío, ubicada en la ciudad de León, Gto. México. Master en Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades por la Universidad de Paris 12, grado que se obtuvo en la ciudad de París, Francia, Master en Enseñanza Universitaria y Master en Desarrollo Organizacional, Licenciado en Informática Administrativa grados obtenidos por la Universidad de León ubicada en la ciudad de León, Gto. México. La filiación institucional en la que se desarrolla como catedrático en el Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Purísima del Rincón.
