En el período de distanciamiento físico en la pandemia de la covid-19, la práctica de ejercicio físico jugó un papel fundamental en el mantenimiento de la salud. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar el poder predictivo de las dimensiones de la pasión (obsesiva [PO] y armoniosa [PH]) sobre el tiempo de práctica durante la semana, el estado de mindfulness en la realización del ejercicio y sus consecuencias sobre la satisfacción con la práctica. El estudio incluyó a 359 practicantes de ejercicio regulares de ambos sexos (67.4 % mujeres), con edades comprendidas entre 18 y 70 años (M = 36.6 ± 11.9). Se utilizaron análisis de correlación de Pearson y modelos de ecuaciones estructurales. Los resultados mostraron que las dos dimensiones de la pasión predijeron positivamente el tiempo de práctica y solo el PH predijo el estado de mindfulness, lo cual predijo también positivamente la satisfacción con la práctica. Los resultados corroboran la literatura sobre el modelo dualista de la pasión al señalar la PH como una variable que promueve el funcionamiento psicológico positivo.
