Objective: To describe quality indicators of prenatal care received by users of the Family Health Strategy in counties of the Paraíba State and investigate differentials according to socioeconomic characteristics, social support and the type of health team. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study with 463 women with children under two years of age. Data were collected through the application of questionnaires, including prenatal start time and number of consultations, procedures, exams and guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health. Results: In the first trimester, 80.8% of the women started prenatal care, and 84.4% performed at least six visits. Tetanus vaccination was reported by 87.7% of the interviewees. Ferrous sulfate supplementation, physical and laboratory tests, and ultrasonography had a prevalence of over 95%, except the breast exam that was for (44.9%). The guidelines ranged from 76.2% (gestational weight gain) to 85.3% (feeding during pregnancy). Socioeconomic characteristics were associated with the time of onset of prenatal care, the number of consultations, tetanus immunization, tests (breasts, blood, blood glucose, urine) and the receipt of guidelines (feeding during pregnancy, weight gain gestational); social support showed similar results. There were no differences in the indicators according to the type of health team. Conclusion: Most prenatal indicators showed high proportions of adequacy. The clinical examination of the breasts showed the worst performance. The adequacy of prenatal care was influenced both by socioeconomic characteristics and by the social support of women.
