The transition towards sustainable development must not be considered as an overcost, but trahter as a key investment for world security. Progress financing for third world countries towards a sustainable development must not be considered the solo responsibility of the governments. This process involves industrial people, intermediaries, clients, providers, educators and authorities. Countries and companies that have this kind of orientation are the ones that possess a better economic profit as in the case of the Domini Social Index.

Financial institutions are organizations with an important role in the society and are directly related to sustainable development; that is why, they must internally orient their efforts towards that maintenance of the environment. On the other hand, they must, externally, take into account the sustainable development variables within credit analysis and financing of activities which are directly or indirectly related to environment
