Objective: To analyze Eafit University’s new institutional policy on science, technology, and innovation (STI) in light of the literature on academia-industry collaboration. Methodology: A qualitative case study was conducted based on a documentary analysis of the sti policy and its comparison with a review of specialized literature. Key Findings: A general alignment with institutional success factors was identified, along with opportunities for improvement associated with the absence of an explicit technological innovation management system. Conclusions: Although the policy constitutes an enabling framework for academia-industry collaboration, the documentary analysis suggests that its institutional scope could be strengthened by specifying operational systems that link research, development, and transfer.
