The originality of this work lies in addressing the lack of research that identifies and compares cultural value assessment methods, providing valuable information for decision-making about their use. Objective: To identify the cultural value assessment methods used in organizational research. Methodology: A systematic literature review was conducted using the prisma method in Web of Science (WoS) and EBSCOhost, including only peer-reviewed scientific journal articles that reported research on cultural values using an assessment method. Articles that did not include assessment methods or that referred to aspects of organizational culture other than values were excluded. Thirty-one academic articles were included for analysis. Key Findings: Twelve cultural value assessment methods used in organizational research were identified, with the Competing Values Framework the most widely used method, grounded in a universal theoretical model. Conclusions: The findings are especially useful for organizations’ human resources departments, as they identify and provide methods for assessing organizational values and for aligning practices and culture with strategy. This can help create healthier, more coherent work environments. Furthermore, an organizational culture aligned with values can influence the value chain, promoting responsible practices with suppliers, customers, and communities.
