Abstract

This article analyzes the impact of algorithmic management on the working conditions of digital platform workers and its connection to the intensification of labor precarization in digital environments. It presents a literature review covering the period from 2013 to 2024, based on 26 studies retrieved from the JSTOR and Taylor & Francis databases, in both English and Spanish, and employing diverse methodologies. Four key analytical nodes were identified: the new digital factory and the dimensions of precarious work; algorithmic management in digital platforms: between invisible control and simulated autonomy; new spatial strategies of unionism in digital platforms; and the price of the algorithm: the breakdown of physical and mental well-being among platform workers.
