Abstract

The following writing aims to take a tour of the birth of natural law in antiquity, more specifically in the pre-Socratics, in the realist triad, in the Peripatetics, Stoicism and Christianity, and its differences with natural law in pre-modernity, and in modernity. It is concluded that there are two natural law aspects, called objectivists and subjectivists, which are present in both antiquity and modernity. And both share a common method which is the rational one. Regarding the method, they differ in that there is a rational interpretative current, and there is another evident and self-evident rational one. The method used to develop the article is the historical-analytical one, in which the points addressed regarding the natural law conception are described and explained.
