Introdução: o presente estudo tem como objetivo investigar os resultados psicométricos propostos por Mena, Sánchez-Palacios (1) para o questionário sobre estereótipos negativos em relação à velhice (CENVE). Materiais e Métodos: a amostra total foi composta por 1.480 participantes; todos estudantes do curso de Educação Física e Motricidade Humana oferecido na Universidade Autônoma de Chihuahua, com média de idade de 2,53 anos (DP=1,84) para mulheres e 20,90 (DP=2,05) para homens. Resultados: a análise psicométrica mostrou que uma estrutura unifatorial era viável e adequada. A estrutura fatorial do questionário foi analisada com análise fatorial confirmatória. A estrutura de um único fator (estereótipos frente à velhice), atendendo a critérios substantivos e estatísticos, apresentou indicadores adequados de ajuste de confiabilidade e validade. Pesquisas futuras devem replicar essas descobertas em amostras maiores.
