Abstract

Introducción: Las experiencias asociadas al COVID y sus efectos continúan siendo temas de interés entre los investigadores y las naciones, ya que no solo se estiman efectos a nivel de la salud y hábitos de vida, también a nivel de la salud mental de quienes experimentaron distintos niveles de estrés tanto social, emocional y/o económico asociado a este periodo. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo conocer las experiencias asociadas al COVID en un grupo de adolescentes chilenos y su efecto en el bienestar subjetivo medido como satisfacción con la vida. Materiales y métodos: Participaron un total de 1459 estudiantes de secundaria de 9 establecimientos educacionales de 3 regiones de Chile, los datos fueron recolectados de manera remota entre abril y julio de 2021. Resultados: Los resultados muestran que los estudiantes que experimentaron experiencias negativas durante la pandemia tuvieron menores puntuaciones en satisfacción con la vida. El apoyo percibido de la escuela y la familia son variables relevantes en la comprensión de los niveles de satisfacción con la vida. Conclusiones: Se discute sobre la importancia de identificar elementos estresores y protectores de los niveles de satisfacción con la vida en una edad especialmente vulnerable como la adolescencia. Se plantean alcances, aportes y limitaciones del estudio.
