Las compras en línea se han consolidado como un modelo de negocio predominante. Los compradores en línea en el mundo han aumentado: en 2017, 1270 millones de personas; en 2018, 1380 millones; y en 2019, 1480 millones. En Colombia el comercio electrónico en 2020 se incrementó un 31 % con respecto a 2019, las ventas de comercio electrónico representan el 1.8 % del PIB. El objetivo de este artículo es identificar los factores determinantes para la intención de compras en línea por parte de los consumidores de Boyacá (Colombia), basados en el modelo de la teoría unificada de aceptación y uso de tecnología (UTAUT2). Con un cuestionario en línea se recolectaron los datos de 171 personas. Se utilizó el modelo de ecuaciones estructurales (SEM), enfoque PLS-SEM, y su análisis arrojó como hallazgos que las variables hábito (t = 7.292; p = 0), expectativa de desempeño (t = 3.153; p = 0.002), motivación hedónica (t = 3.019; p = 0.003) y valor por el precio (t = 2.620; p = 0.009) son significativas en la intención de las personas de realizar compras en línea. Las variables condiciones facilitadoras, expectativa de esfuerzo e influencia social no son significativas para tal conducta.
