Diversidad cultural en la escuela urbana: pensar en la etnoeducación en Bogotá

The topic of cultural diversity is not just a natural issue for the academic worls. On the contrary, the expansion of the Colombian school in the nineteenth century is the history of an attempt for homogenizing the social and culture order. That is whay the school as an institution does not have a tradition that can make it dealing pedagogically talking, with difference, singularity and plurality of the actor involved. The school culture, in cities like Bogotá, faces the daily diversity in each classroom, a diversity that is expressed in the cultural knowledge of those who belong to diverse socal-cultural worlds. In other words, what school culture generates in relation to this phenomenon compromises, the possibilities of recognizing, integrating, or even excluding diverse cultural experiences from education projects.
