INTRODUCCIÓN: El Trastorno por Déficit de Atención con Hiperactividad (TDAH) es una patología neuropsiquiátrica que produce una alteración en las acciones cotidianas de la persona y de su entorno inmediato. La literatura científica sobre la percepción de la calidad de vida (CV) de los progenitores evidencia la ausencia de intervenciones e investigaciones desde el fundamento de la modificación cognitivo-conductual, por lo que se justifica la necesidad de estudiar este trastorno y la relación con la CV de los padres.


OBJETIVOS: Conocer si los resultados de la intervención cognitivo-conductual en menores con TDAH repercuten en la CV de los padres.


MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Se realizó un estudio longitudinal experimental de seis semanas de duración con una muestra de 36 niños y niñas con TDAH y con sus progenitores. Para ello se diseñó un tratamiento cognitivo-conductual con un fundamento ocupacional. La herramienta de evaluación aplicada en los progenitores fue el Cuestionario de calidad de vida relacionada con la salud Short Form-36 (SF-36).


RESULTADOS: Se produjo una mejora significativa de la CV del grupo experimental al finalizar la intervención (p < 0,001). En el grupo control no se evidenciaron mejoras significativas.


CONCLUSIONES: La CV de los padres del grupo experimental mejoró significativamente.
