O presente artigo objetivou adaptar para o contexto brasileiro a Escala Bergen de Adição ao Instagram (ebai), reunindo evidências de validade (fatorial, convergente e concorrente) e precisão, além de inspecionar os parâmetros individuais de seus itens (dificuldade e discriminação). Participaram 217 usuários dessa rede social (Midade = 22,04; dpidade = 6,63; 73,7 % mulheres). Os resultados apontaram para a unidimensionalidade da medida, que teve seus itens com discriminação alta e muito alta, de fácil e moderado endosso e que cobriu ampla faixa do traço latente. Ademais, o vício no Instagram se associou positivamente a malestar psicológico (e.g., depressão, estresse e ansiedade), além do escore total da ebai ter predito o uso dessa rede social (e.g., tempo gasto e frequência de postagens). No geral, os resultados demonstraram que a ebai é uma medida curta e eficiente para a quantificação do vício no Instagram, possibilitando conhecer os antecedentes e as consequências do uso excessivo dessa rede social.
