El presente artículo tuvo como objetivo adaptar, para el contexto brasileño, la Escala Bergen de Adicción a Instagram (EBAI), reuniendo evidencias de validez (factorial, convergente y concurrente) y precisión, además de inspeccionar los parámetros individuales de sus ítems (dificultad y discriminación). Participaron 217 usuarios de esa red social (Medad = 22.04; DPedad = 6.63; 73.7 % mujeres). Los resultados apuntaron para la unidimensionalidad de la medida, que tuvo sus ítems con discriminación alta y muy alta, de fácil y moderado endoso y que cubrió amplio rango del rasgo latente. Adicionalmente, el vicio en Instagram se asoció positivamente a malestar psicológico (e.g., depresión, estrés y ansiedad), además del puntaje total de la EBAI haber predicho el uso de esa red social (e.g., tiempo gastado y frecuencia de publicaciones). En general, los resultados demostraron que la EBAI es una medida corta y eficiente para la cuantificación del vicio en Instagram, que permite conocer los antecedentes y consecuencias del uso problemático de esa red social.
