The current study aimed to investigate co-parenting in children of 24 months of age. It was a qualitative study in which the participants were 10 nuclear families, each with an only child. The mother and father attended an interview about their experience of maternity and paternity, respectively. These interviews were examined using the deductive thematic analysis, considering the component themes of Feinberg’s co-parenting model: division of labor, childrearing agreement, support versus undermining, and joint family management. The results revealed that essential childcare and household chores were predominantly under responsibility, while paternal involvement was mainly in leisure activities such as play and strolls. Reports on satisfaction regarding the division of labor were predominant. Concerning the childrearing agreement, the participants particularly emphasized the challenges of negotiating and setting appropriate limits for the child at 24 months, aiming to promote new skills and self-regulation in the toddlers, as well as to prevent accidents. Reports of support and undermining coexisted in the families. Thus, respect of one parent for the contributions of the other, admiration and sustaining of authority, on the one hand, and blaming, criticism, and competition between mother and father, on the other, were evidenced. Por sua Tese de Doutorado, recebeu dois prêmios: Prêmio CAPES de Tese - Edição 2019, na área de Psicologia, e Grande Prêmio CAPES de Tese 'Josué de Castro' - Edição 2019, na área de Humanidades, sendo este último concedido em parceria entre a CAPES e o Instituto Ayrton Senna. Psicóloga, Especialista em Saúde da Família e Mestre em Psicologia pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Foi bolsista CAPES de mestrado (REUNI) e doutorado no país (PROEX), bem como de doutorado sanduíche no exterior (PDSE). No pós-doutorado, foi bolsista DOCFIX/FAPERGS/CAPES (2018-2018) e PDJ/CNPq (2018-2019). É pesquisadora colaboradora externa no Laboratório de Psicologia da Saúde, Família e Comunidade da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (LABSFAC/UFSC). Integrante do GT Parentalidade e Desenvolvimento Infantil em Diferentes Contextos, da Associação Nacional de Pesquisa e Pós-graduação em Psicologia (ANPEPP) e do Latino Caucus, da Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD). Autora de artigos publicados em periódicos, capítulos de livros, trabalhos em congressos nacionais e internacionais, bem como de textos em jornais de notícias/revistas visando à popularização da ciência. Integrante de corpo editorial e revisora de periódicos de Psicologia. Interessa-se principalmente por temas atinentes a relações familiares e desenvolvimento infantil, processos saúde-doença e intervenções psicológicas em contextos clínicos e de saúde, desenvolvendo estudos quantitativos e qualitativos sobre esses temas.
