The current qualitative study aims identifying support needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities living in medium-large facilities in Chile, according to service providers’ perspective. Data were gathered by means of three focal groups. Results showed the existence of different perceptions of support needs. Therefore, whereas direct support staff emphasized daily living supports, other professionals and center directors focused on community living support needs. The study stresses the relevance of working in service providers’ mental models, in order to develop strategic initiatives focused on users’ needs
