Envy can be either motivating or demotivating in physical exercise practice; however, when individuals manage these emotions and stay present in the here and now, they may experience greater satisfaction with their practice. Thus, this study aimed to assess the predictive role of envy indicators on mindfulness and the predictive role of mindfulness on satisfaction with the practice. It also examined mindfulness’s mediating role in the relationship between envy and satisfaction with physical exercise. The study included 244 participants aged 18 to 72 years (M = 30.9, SD = 12), 73.8% female. Results showed that physical monitoring fully mediated the relationship between envy and satisfaction with the practice, while physical acceptance partially mediated the relationship. Overall, these findings contribute to understanding the mechanisms that explain associations between envy dimensions and satisfaction with practice.
