Frontier are complex space. They are essential to determine national and international integration.

In the last two decades, Colombia has made great progress concerning the global understanding about the complexity of frontiers, as it is shown by the Frontiers Law. General observations on the application of this Law could be helpful for analyzing this matter in other South American countries, taking into account that most of them present sorne similarities on this tapie.
