El artículo tiene como objetivo evaluar los factores que influyen en la transición hacia la economía verde en Brasil por medio del modelo stirpat. Se examinan las emisiones (1981-2021) y la deforestación (1991-2021) como variables dependientes. Los resultados muestran que el pib per capita se correlaciona negativamente con las emisiones debido a la desindustrialización y los avances tecnológicos. El consumo de energía está positivamente asociado con las emisiones a causa de la expansión urbana, y hay una preferencia por el crecimiento económico en detrimento de las preocupaciones ambientales. La expansión agrícola se correlaciona inversamente con las emisiones, sugiriendo un potencial secuestro de carbono en áreas rurales. La superficie forestal disminuye con el pib per capita, lo crecimiento de la población y el uso de energía, lo que indica pérdida forestal vinculada al crecimiento económico y la urbanización. El estudio destaca la necesidad de transiciones sociotécnicas personalizadas, promoviendo sectores verdes, regulaciones ambientales robustas y prácticas sostenibles para fomentar la innovación, la descarbonización y el desarrollo equitativo.
