This paper studies the XVIIth Century Spanish Polítical Literature about the ruler's education, which established the ideal of the Christian Prince who must mirror the divine attributes as much as possible. Therefore Spanish thinkers reminded the prince about this duty encouraging him to an achievable and balanced imitation, in proportion to his human faculties. The paper shows the most important Spanish works concerning the prince's education and moral improvement; and states as a reflection, the ideal of a universal Christian monarchy as a really up to date model for a world government’s aspirations.
