O teletrabalho é um recurso laboral que, com certas adaptações, pode atuar como agente de bem-estar emocional, regular o conflito trabalho-família e ativar processos organizacionais chave, como a motivação intrínseca e o comportamento criativo. O principal objetivo desta investigação é estudar a relação entre o teletrabalho e o comportamento criativo, analisando o papel moderador da motivação intrínseca entre estas duas variáveis. O modelo é contrastado a partir de uma amostra composta por 273 homens e 175 mulheres com formação universitária. O teletrabalho e a sua intensidade relacionam-se de forma curvilínea com a motivação intrínseca e o comportamento criativo. No entanto, o desenho da curva não assume a forma de um U invertido; ou seja, o número de dias de teletrabalho e os benefícios que lhe estão associados, à medida que avança, não diminui gradualmente a motivação intrínseca e a criatividade do trabalhador. Da mesma forma, o teletrabalho e suas vantagens estimulam o comportamento criativo apenas quando a motivação intrínseca atinge níveis médios ou altos. Sem dúvida, o teletrabalho torna-se um habitat ideal para trabalhadores com elevada formação acadêmica, uma vez que integra necessidades psicológicas básicas que explicam a forma como a motivação intrínseca se associa a alguns traços de personalidade; além disso, esta ligação produz respostas novas, úteis e adaptativas. No entanto, a eficácia do teletrabalho e o evitamento do isolamento social é uma responsabilidade compartilhada que exige um esforço contínuo entre organização e trabalhador.
