Journalism in Digital Coastal Networks in Amazonas: The Experience of the Amazônia Ribeirinha Educational Channel in the Production of Videos on the YouTube Platform

This article shows the content production path of the Amazônia Ribeirinha educational channel on the YouTube platform. The channel was born from a perspective of alternative, collaborative and networked production during Covid 19, producing news, web series, documentaries and educational videos. The objective was to focus on a production closer to local realities, with emphasis on the stories, protagonism and resistance of traditional populations (Indigenous, quilombolas, coastal). Given the lack of news in the region, especially in the interior of Amazonas, where access is difficult, being the river the only way to reach the populations of the region; and to observe the multiplicities of understanding of Amazonia in the Lower Amazon. For this, the main authors that guided the article were Jenkis (2008), Martino (2015), Neves (2019), among others. In methodological terms, the videos were produced under a collaborative network approach, with the participation of coastal populations. From the point of view of conception and approach, it was based on the assumptions of the ethnographic method and a decolonial perspective in the selection of topics and interviewees. The work showed the possibilities of producing with low-cost mobile devices and experimentation in producing new ways of narrating the Amazon.
