Teen dating violence (TDV) represents an adverse experience with potential harm to biopsychosocial developmental and is associated with various risk factors. The main objective of this systematic review was to analyze empirical studies on TDV, sexism and beliefs about gender roles. The databases consulted for this review were: SciELO, Lilacs, PsycINFO, Scopus, and Web of Science. The final sample consisted of 31 articles published between 2000 and 2024. The main methodological aspects, objectives, and results were surveyed, along with a thematic análisis of the discussion sections of the articles. Among the key findings, a significant positive association was identified between sexism, endorsement of traditional gender roles, and TDV. However, most studies included adolescents from the Global North, followed a binary and cis-heteronormative logic, and did not consider aspects such as race and socioeconomic characteristics.
