Este estudio revisa sistemáticamente la aplicación de técnicas de toma de decisiones multicriterio (MCDM, por sus siglas en inglés) en la evaluación del desempeño bancario, utilizando el marco PRISMA y un enfoque de mapeo de brechas de evidencia. Tras examinar 1.546 artículos de SCOPUS, Web of Science y Google Scholar, se identificaron 68 trabajos relevantes. Los hallazgos revelan que la mayoría de los estudios emplean una combinación de técnicas MCDM, destacando AHP y TOPSIS como los métodos más utilizados. La revisión indica, además, un predominio de la selección de criterios independientes de marcos específicos y de indicadores de desempeño financiero, mientras que los marcos multidimensionales estructurados —como CAMEL/CAMELS y el Cuadro de Mando Integral (BSC)— reciben una atención comparativamente limitada. Asimismo, la literatura se concentra geográficamente en unos pocos países, particularmente en Turquía. El estudio identifica oportunidades para futuras investigaciones en áreas como la evaluación basada en marcos, la integración de indicadores no financieros y ESG, el análisis de robustez de las clasificaciones MCDM y la aplicación en un ámbito geográfico más amplio.
