O TikTok é uma das redes sociais mais populares entre os jovens. Por esse motivo, há preocupação com o impacto que seu uso pode ter na vida cotidiana e no bem-estar dos usuários. Com base na teoria dos usos e das gratificações, este estudo analisa a relação entre o scrolling no TikTok, a percepção do tempo, os tipos de uso da rede social e o estado emocional dos jovens. Para isso, foi aplicado um questionário a 198 jovens usuários ativos da plataforma, em que se coletaram variáveis sociodemográficas e padrões de uso. Os resultados indicam que a maioria dos participantes utiliza o TikTok de maneira intensiva, predominando um consumo não intencional, que, por sua vez, está associado a uma menor percepção do tempo decorrido no aplicativo. Os participantes mais jovens e as mulheres tendem a dedicar mais tempo ao scrolling, embora estas últimas relatem um uso mais intencional da rede social. No entanto, não foi observada relação significativa entre o scrolling no TikTok e o nível de bem-estar dos jovens. Esses achados contribuem com evidências para um campo de pesquisa emergente, sublinhando a importância de compreender os mecanismos de uso das redes sociais.
