A cor é significativa na percepção das pessoas, pois a partir dela podem ser tomadas decisões quanto à aceitação de produtos, alimentos, ambientes, emoções entre múltiplos fatores. O objetivo desta pesquisa é caracterizar a aceitação de cores por estudantes universitários da cidade de Medellín, Colômbia, a fim de ser uma referência em várias aplicações do dia a dia. Foram utilizadas análises fatoriais de correspondência múltipla, análise fatorial e distribuição de frequência, as informações foram coletadas por amostragem não aleatória por meio de questionário em escala Likert. Como resultado destacado, foi detectada diferença significativa (P <0,05) entre os sexos quanto às cores: amarelo, preto, roxo e rosa, a cor preferida foi a preta e a de menor aceitação pelos pesquisados foi a marrom. Conclui-se que a cor vermelha está associada ao sangue, amarela ao sol, azul ao céu, branca à paz, preta à elegância e verde à natureza.
