Construyendo explicaciones realistas causales: El republicanismo causal y la causalidad como interpretación en las relaciones internacionales

Resumen

Al adoptar la postura de filosofía de la física del “Republicanismo Causal”, este artículo aborda la causalidad como una herramienta interpretativa para dar sentido a las relaciones entre las cosas en el mundo. Aunque varios lingüistas y filósofos realistas han subrayado la relevancia del lenguaje para la ciencia como interpretación de lo real, los enfoques filosóficos realistas de la causalidad en las Relaciones Internacionales (RI) suelen descuidar la importancia del lenguaje y la interpretación para ofrecer explicaciones causales. Con el fin de reivindicar el carácter interpretativo de la causalidad, este artículo presenta un ejemplo de análisis realista crítico sobre el poder causal de las ideas en un caso de implementación del regionalismo, mostrando que incorporar una visión republicanista causal en los enfoques realistas causales puede mejorar la formulación de explicaciones causales, sin abandonar su concepción realista de la causalidad.
