This is a review of the book Ethical Treatment of the LGTBI+ Community in the Media by Adolfo Carratalá, which examines the ethical challenges of journalism in covering LGTBI+ issues.

The author identifies problems such as invisibility, sensationalism, stereotypes, and the absence of LGTBI+ voices in the news. Through real cases (such as the Arny case, the Dolores Vázquez case, or the suicide of the trans minor in Sallent), he examines media errors and proposes a ten-point guide of best practices for more inclusive and responsible communication. He also provides an overview of organizations, laws, and guidelines that regulate or evaluate the media treatment of LGTBI+ individuals.

The work combines academic rigor with a journalistic approach, offering a critical and accessible guide that promotes ethical and respectful media coverage of sexual and gender diversity.
