Resumo

Um novo foco geopolítico que adquire importância crescente no século 21 é o Oceano Glacial Ártico, em razão do recente degelo. Ao mesmo tempo, o sistema internacional atravessa um processo de reordenamento no qual se pressupõe o declínio da hegemonia anglo-saxônica. Como o mundo anglosaxão reage a esse degelo? Qual é sua resposta à presença de potências rivais? E, mais especificamente, como se configura a atual projeção estratégica da Anglosfera no Ártico diante dos avanços russos e chineses? Este artigo de reflexão mobiliza o conceito recente de Anglosfera, que concebe o Reino Unido e suas antigas colônias brancas como um bloco de segurança mútua diante de potências rivais, sob uma perspectiva teórica fundamentada no construtivismo realista e no choque de civilizações, articulada a uma abordagem histórico-sociológica, com o objetivo de compreender a projeção estratégica do mundo anglo-saxão no Ártico.
