The sovereignty dispute over the Question of the Malvinas Islands between Argentina and the United Kingdom has remained pending resolution for more than 191 years, despite numerous attempts to solve it. This study proposes to analyze conciliation as an alternative to overcome the impasse in bilateral negotiations, providing a flexible approach that allows dealing with both the legal and practical aspects of the dispute. Through a historical and normative analysis, it examines the background and applications of conciliation in international law and the different previous initiatives to resolve the dispute over the question of the Malvinas Islands. Thus, the study analyzes whether conciliation can be an alternative that allows progress in finding a solution for both parties.
